Announcement

MoonBurnt.org does freeform roleplay conducted by message board. We're not open yet (the admin's trying to mod the hell out of the board system) but feel free to join us at our lounge while you wait. Go ahead and register here, try out some options, and get a feel for the setup. We'll be going before you know it.

If you are looking at this (which I guess you are), the install of PunBB appears to have worked! Now log in and head over to the administration control panel to configure your forum.

Re: Test post(s)

Oh hey, this thing's kinda cool!  Ehehehehehe.  I gotta pound out a CSS skin for this thing yet to make it all spiffykins, but I'm so loving this.  The admin console actually administrates stuff instead of requiring edits on hard drive and then FTP to the server.  Every gorram time.

But this is KEEN!

Just testing to make sure guest posts work as desired, too.  *waves*

EDIT:  It didn't but now it does.  Yay testing!

And further testing the (Twine entry) links to make sure the links don't lead to wiki errors.

Chingada.  Okay then.  I'll have to URLencode the poster names for linking but not for display, and I also still need to get multi-word names to work -- right now posting as "Jaina Jade" (for example) would lead to an empty page, which is not what I want.

Working on it.

Re: Test post(s)

Making the wiki script handle spaces in urls (convert them to underscore) would help, though I'm not sure how that would be done.  I know Wikipedia can do it...

Re: Test post(s)

Wikipedia's huge enough to do whatever though.  They don't have many limits.  *g*
Spaces don't work in Usemod because it signals the end of the page name; that's probably not easy to change.  Right now I'm not too worried about it, because I can't think of any Pro chars with non-ASCII names (and apostrophes a la An'Thaya D'Riel do seem to work).  However, what then of an Alassë or Ráwen?  So I'll keep trying.

Re: Test post(s)

They only run MediaWiki... which is a glorified UseMod.

My main concern is hacking UseMod to make it let me do boilerplate text.

Testing new BBcode...

Looks good.  Adding note to "help docs" about the new BBcode.  Rock!

One more doesn't work yet.
Jaina Jade should change the spaces to underscores, but I don't know how to yet.

EDIT:  Scratch that, I figured it out.  You may now kiss my ring if you wish.

Umlauts don't seem to work if typed as ü but do if entered from the Character Map in Windows (or, presumably, typed on a keyboard).

Thank you, noble spammers, for giving me IP addresses of open proxies!  My ban button is most grateful for your aid in this matter.

That's what I get for leaving guest posting on in this forum.  *eyeroll*
